Our inpatient facility houses 10 Veteran clients who receive specialized and personal care from our staff.  Located in Reno, NV

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for working closely with all admitted patients at the program, staff, medical providers, and administrative staff. The LPN will monitor patients’ health status by following protocols and deliver patient care as directed by medical provider orders such as obtaining test results and checking patient’s vitals on a set schedule, aiding patients in administering medications, etc. The LPN will additionally oversee the Behavioral Technician’s functions and performance while providing services to patients in detox from substance use. The LPN will be responsible for monitoring patients’ withdrawal symptoms, adhering to treatment protocols, and notifying medical provider(s) if patients are not progressing in their recovery as anticipated. The LPN will monitor all patient-administered medications throughout the day while maintaining documentation for the patients. All documentation must meet the standards of the state health codes. The LPN records all medications, vital signs, and any information that will assist the medical provider in making decisions and managing patients’ care.

  • Supervises other licensed and non-licensed nursing staff in the day-to-day delivery of patient care.
  • Prepares and reviews medical records and nursing notes to evaluate patients’ physical and emotional status.
  • Provides nursing care according to the medical provider(s) orders, care plans, established protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares and observes patient-administered medications as ordered by medical provider(s) in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies.
  • Maintains all charting, record keeping and care plans in accordance with established policies, procedures, and required regulations.
  • Provides patient-centered care.
  • Engages with multiple disciplinary teams to advance patient progress toward goals.
  • Supports maintenance of a safe environment of care at the facility.
  • Supports care coordination activities to outside appointments and access to medications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in the State of Nevada.
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Familiarization with HIPAA/client confidentiality and personal rights.
Preferred education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.
  • Two to five years of experience in a nursing role.
  • Two to five years of experience in the mental health and/or addiction field.

Hourly wage: $33.91 - $44.09
